Locals Day

Ziptrek pride themselves on giving back to their community, which is why every year we run a Locals Day.

What is Locals Day?  We offer the local community to come out and experience the thrill seeking fun of Ziptrek for a heavily discounted price with a significant proportion of the proceeds going to a local charity or community recognized group to receive the donation.

Who have we helped so far?   We have supported 7 locals groups since we opened in 2009 and they include Lakes Family Centre, Youth Booth, Wakatipu Search & Rescue, Kiwi Birdlife Park, St Johns Ambulance, Queenstown Scouts and Wakatipu Reforestation Trust, raising over a whopping $150K in total.

This year we are changing it up by letting our local community vote on who they would like to see receive the funds.

Check out our three lucky short-listed participants, watch their video on why they should be chosen and vote using the button below.  Alternatively, you can also donate to their worthy cause using the donation link.

Branches Charitable Trust

Branches Camp is a Wakatipu High School Year 10 outdoor adventure camp which lasts 12 days and is held at the Branches Station far beyond Skippers Canyon.  This 50 year old camp is now widely regarded as a right of passage by all past and present student for those educated here in the Wakatipu. The Branches Charitable Trust was formed 31st July 2009 by a group of local people concerned with the esculating costs of the Branches Camp due to the need to use professionals with outdoor expertise and wanting to create a fund to underwrite the cost of the camp. By ensuring the continuity of the Branches Camp the Trust fulfills its primary objective in promoting, fostering and supporting the development of young men and women in the Wakatipu community.
