COVID-19 Preparedness

 

WE'RE OPEN!!! 

 

Queenstown is currently in Alert Level 2 which means we are still open and operating but following the health & safety guidelines laid out by the Ministry of Health which includes masks worn on tour, additional contact tracing and questions to establish your health and increased sanitization of our operating areas.

We've done this before and whilst hopefully only temporary, please read the below and refer to our FAQs for more information in relation to this.   If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us below.

Our tours will align with Skyline gondola operating hours which is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Please be aware that the dayes that Skyline may close could change but should your future reservation end up on a future gondola closed date then we will endeavour to reschedule you in the first instance, or provide a full refund. 

Due to the reduced capacity, our shop hours will be slightly reduced too.  If you wish to contact our amazing Guest Services team, they are working  weekdays 9am to 5pm and weekends 10am to 6pm but are closed on Tuesdays, so will not be answering phones or emails on this day.   Alternatively, our Zippy chatbot is available 24/7 and may be able to help otherwise they will respond on the next business day.

Cancellation Policy: 

Tour cancellations within 24 hours of tour departure time will be charged at the full nett rate.  No shows will also be charged at the full rate.  Please note that sometimes a rescheduling fee of $50 per adult or $25 per youth may be charged in the event of re-scheduling clients within 24hours, if the fault lies purely with the guest.    

Should New Zealand return to Alert Level 3 or 4, Ziptrek Ecotours will not operate and all guests will be contacted to see if they can reschedule or they will be cancelled and a full refund given. 

During Alert Level 1 and 2, we will continue to honour the 24 hour cancellation policy, however if a guest or anyone in their party is feeling unwell, they must contact our Guest Services team immediately and we will endeavour to reschedule. We will offer a full refund if this is not possible.  Please note we are not able to operate in Level 2 in heavy rain due to the limitations around effectiveness in mask-wearing when wet. 

 

LEVEL 2 COVID19 INFORMATION:

  • You must follow our teams’ instructions and guidance
  • Contact tracing is required upon entering our site
  • You may be asked additional questions upon check in. 
  • Physical distancing markers are on the ground and throughout the course
  • Extra clothing, beanies, gloves  and blankets will not be issued at the moment
  • Hand sanitiser is readily available throughout the course
  • Please dress with all of your winter clothing. It is COLD up there
  • If you have any cold or flu symptoms you must NOT attend.  Please call us to reschedule
  • Activity under 1m distance requires PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • PPE is mandatory. We will be providing you masks, however you are welcome to bring your own.
  • Baggage: Please bring only things that will go on your zipline tour with. No bags please.

 

For when Queenstown returns to Level 1, below is a recap of what that means for Ziptrek. 

LEVEL 1 COVID19 INFORMATION:

  • You must follow our teams’ instructions and guidance
  • Contact tracing is no longer compulsory but you will be required to complete our "smartwaiver" system and this will be emailed to you when you make a booking.
  • Masks are not compulsory.  However, guests are free to wear them at any time if they are more comfortable. 
  • All areas with guest and guide interaction will be cleaned regularly, in accordance with good health & safety recommendations.
  • Hand sanitizer is readily available throughout the course. 
  • Please dress with all of your winter clothing. It is COLD up there, however extra clothing, beanies, gloves and blankets can be issued again and will be cleaned regularly.
  • If you have any cold or flu symptoms you must NOT attend.  Please call us to reschedule

 

We will close immediately should NZ return to Alert Level 3 or 4.
