Your Safety

What does safety mean to us?

At Ziptrek we have been safely zipping guests since 2002. We have extensive zipline experience and have set the standard on the delivery of commercial ziplining around the globe!

Ziptrek’s first core value is Safety. It is at the forefront of everything we do and deep within our company culture. We know that with a strong safety culture, systems and equipment we can offer an unforgettable experience.

What are the risks?

Ziptrek Ecotours is an adventure activity that takes place at height within a forest environment, as such there are elements of risk involved. The primary risks being (but not limited to):

  • Fall from height
  • Collision with objects
  • Equipment failure
  • Changing weather conditions
  • Natural hazards (such as fire, and earthquake)
  • Slips/trips and falls

We will take all reasonable and practicable steps to ensure your safety whilst out zipping with us.

LEGISLATIONS & How are we audited?

The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, The Health and Safety at Work (Worker Engagement, Participation and Representation) Regulations 2016 and The Health and Safety at Work (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2016 apply to all operations.

The Health and Safety at Work (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2016 requires commercial adventure tourism and outdoor operators in New Zealand who provide adventure activities to undergo a safety audit and be registered.

Qualworx provide our audit where we are audited against the Safety Audit Standard (version 2.0) - Safety management system requirements for adventure activity operators.
