Adventure for More People: Our New Accessibility Guide at Ziptrek Ecotours Queenstown

calendar_todayMarch 30, 2026 at 1:23 PM

At Ziptrek Ecotours Queenstown, we believe adventure should be something more people can experience and enjoy. Ziplining through the forest on Bob’s Peak is an unforgettable way to see Queenstown and, we want guests to feel confident planning their visit before they arrive. That’s why we’re excited to share that we have launched a new Accessibility Guide, now available on our website.

Making Adventure Easier to Plan
Adventure activities can sometimes come with lots of questions, especially for guests with accessibility needs or specific requirements. Our new guide helps answer those questions by outlining key details about the experience, including:

  • Terrain and walking distances on course
  • Physical requirements for ziplining
  • Drive around/transport options to our treehouse post tour
  • Harness and equipment considerations
  • Support available from our guides
  • 360-degree footage allowing guests to view the journey from start to finish, helping them fully assess whether the experience is suitable for their needs.

The goal is simple: help guests understand what to expect so they can decide if Ziptrek is the right adventure for them.

Supporting Inclusive Experiences
We know that accessibility looks different for everyone. Some guests may have mobility considerations, medical conditions, sensory sensitivities, or simply want more information before booking. By providing clearer information upfront, we hope to make it easier for guests - and the travel trade partners who book on their behalf - to plan with confidence. Our Ziptrek team is always happy to chat through individual circumstances and work with guests wherever possible to find the best way to experience the course.

Adventure With Purpose
Ziptrek has always been about more than just ziplining. As a company built around sustainability and environmental kaitiakitanga, we are passionate about creating meaningful experiences in nature. Guests on our tours can even sponsor the planting of a native tree on our course, becoming part of our long-term regeneration work on Bob’s Peak. Making our experiences more accessible is another step in that journey.

A Special Thank You
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jezza Williams from MakingTrax for all his help and support throughout the process of creating our Accessibility Guide. His expertise and dedication have been invaluable in making this project a success.

Learn More
