In partnership with Central Lakes Family Services...
Otago locals came together once again for a day of adventure and community spirit, helping Ziptrek Ecotours raise an incredible $9,000 for Central Lakes Family Services (CLFS) at this year's annual Locals Day!
Our 2026 Locals Day has been one to remember! Welcoming 259 locals onto our Moa 4-Line Course, with a further 93 taking on the world's steepest zipline, this year's event was our most successful in several years.
Thanks to the support of our local community, we raised a record-breaking $9,000 for Central Lakes Family Services, with funds coming from 50% of ticket sales, koha donations from those taking on Line 6, and our fundraising BBQ.
This year's fundraising efforts will go directly towards CLFS's Men's Support Services, led by Hemi Cordell, Men's Wellbeing Coordinator.
The service provides support for men affected by or involved in family violence, sexual violence and mental health challenges. It also offers general wellbeing support and guidance for fathers, helping men access the support they need.
We're proud to support an organisation doing such important work across the Queenstown and wider Central Lakes community!
Alongside our fundraising efforts, we were also pleased to donate our trusty hybrid Toyota Prius, known as Zippy, to CLFS.
Previously used by our Sales and Marketing team, Zippy has now retired from Ziptrek as we look towards transitioning to a fully electric vehicle fleet. Rather than saying goodbye for good, we're delighted that the car will continue to make a difference by supporting CLFS's social services team and their work in the community.
From everyone who joined us on the ziplines, made a koha, grabbed a sausage at the BBQ or helped support, thank you!
A special thank you also goes to our Ziptrek team, whose hard work made the day possible. It takes a team effort to bring an event like this together, and we're incredibly proud of what we achieved.
Raising $9,000 and being able to contribute a vehicle to support local social services is something we're hugely proud of. Most importantly, it's a reminder of what can happen when our local community comes together.
Thank you, Queenstown. We couldn't have done it without you!
